What We Collect
We collect basic analytics (page views, conversion counts) via PostHog. We do not collect or store the contents of your files.
Client-Side Conversions
Files processed client-side never leave your browser. We have zero access to these files.
Server-Side Conversions
Files uploaded for server-side conversion are processed and immediately deleted. We do not inspect, copy, or retain file contents.
Cookies
ChangeThisFile shows no advertising and uses no ad-network or ad-tracking cookies. We use cookies for:
- Essential cookies — session management, conversion preferences
- Analytics cookies — understanding how users interact with our service (PostHog); analytics record usage metadata only, never file contents
Third-Party Services
We use the following services:
- Cloudflare — hosting, CDN, security, and temporary storage for async API jobs
- Hetzner — conversion server hosting (Germany, EU)
- PostHog — usage analytics
- Stripe — payment processing (paid plans); we don't store card details
- Maileroo — transactional email delivery (sign-in links, receipts)

Data Retention
Conversion files: deleted immediately after the conversion completes (async API jobs: deleted automatically within 24 hours). Analytics data: retained for 12 months. Account data (paid plans): retained while account is active.
Your Rights
You can request deletion of your account and associated data by emailing privacy@changethisfile.com.
Children's Privacy
ChangeThisFile is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
